Remembered how I used to say in my past blogs how time management is essential in order for you to be able to do all of the things you need to do? Well the proper way to manage your time is knowing your priorities.
Let us say that there is a big party on a Sunday night that you’ve been invited from. From the description itself, a BIG party would sound really really cool, right? But tomorrow for instance, you are going to have an examination. I know you’d probably think that I’m gonna write-in later that you don’t have to go to that party. Because IM NOT. 😀
Prioritizing doesn’t require you to lose your social life, it only requires you to manage your time well. Let us then apply prioritizing on the scenario mentioned earlier. Of course I know you know that the examination is the more important thing to look at, so it would then be the basis of your prioritization. You can actually do two things: One, not go to the party at all (which I know you don’t want to do) or number two, have your time planned. You can actually set a couple of hours to enjoy with that party then set another for reviewing for that examination.
In that way, you do not only maintain your social life but you were also able to manage your time well. Remember that prioritizing is not bad when you don’t let yourself suffer from it. I know that some thought of doing prioritizations would make them feel caged, and not free to enjoy. But it’s a whole different thing when you get to learn on how to prioritize and manage your time well.
Being able to do it would actually make you feel more stressed-free now that you were able to balance your social, entertainment, work and academic lives well. Once you’ve tried it, you’ll never find yourself in that caged-feeling again.
I hope this ingredient would help a lot in changing yourself for the better. 😀
