As what successful people say to others when they have finally reached their goals and couldn’t ask for more, If you want something to be done, you have to put not only dedication and passion for it but also, hard work for you can’t be successful in something that you didn’t work hard for.
Challenges cannot only mean that you have to be successful in life so that you can say that you have succeeded it or conquered it. Challenges are those little problems and stresses that occur to our daily work which you just can’t stop from being a headache. Every little thing that we can do or face is for me already considered a challenge that was conquered.
On my personal experience of what challenge is, I actually have been to some and I am actually proud to say that I have made it. High school years are said to be one of the most memorable years of a person’s life. Not only does an individual find new friends to be with to share every joyful high school moment, but mostly people gain much on learning experiences from academic studies as well as personal encounters from different individuals.
During my first year in high school, I was assigned as the class president in our section. Indeed it was quite challenging for me at first. But then, I was able to adjust and adapt with what is going on in the class. Being the class president is not that easy because I had to act as I was expected. I had to maintain order in the class, to be a role model not only to my classmates but also to my fellow students, and to ensure that every problem will be given the right solution. After my first year of high school, I actually learned a lot of things that I never thought I would become.
Moving to my second high school year, I was appointed as the class treasurer. This time, my role is on the finance and budget. With this circumstance, being a trustworthy person known by everyone in the class is something that helped me boost my confidence and inspired me to rightfully accomplish my role. Indeed, handling class funds for projects and events requires proper planning and also budgeting. I’m glad that I was able to accomplish this, thereby gaining the trust of my colleagues.
Meanwhile on my third high school year, I was again placed as one of the class officers. I was elected secretary this time. In this role, I played as our class adviser’s right-hand wherein I was expected to check attendance, assign tasks to my fellow classmates when needed, provide assistance in finishing the class bulletin board and many more. Honestly speaking, through my positions held from those experiences, I was able to win a slot and I won the slot of one of our student council batch representatives.
Yes, I must say that it was an advantage for me. But moreover, it is better to consider that having responsibility, being trustworthy and valuing honesty are irreplaceable values that are learned by an individual like me as the years progress. All of these experiences are considered priceless value while keeping pace with studies by getting high grades and good maintaining moral character not only by being friendly to my classmates but mostly through respect and discipline.
Indeed it is correct that life can be so challenging. But it shouldn’t be a problem to anyone because it is challenges that make us stronger and a better person. We learn many things from every little challenge we encounter and for every time we are able to solve it. For me, so far that I’ve learned from the challenges that I experienced during my high school days is responsibility. It is simply not learned from books, magazines, or any other journal articles a person reads. It is something we learn from ourselves.
All of the valuable things I have learned are applied to my life as a person in facing real-life problems. Thus, I must say that as the years pass by and the days continue, I will be stronger and better than yesterday and I am happy in being better.
